going? whether or not president obama wins reelection, he is still the president through the new year. who wins the presidential election tends to be influential. guest: absolutely. the government would continue functioning, even if the country goes off the fiscal cliff and the issues are not resolved by december 31 when most of them will take effect. the government will continue functioning. to the broader point, yes, president obama would still be in office through the end of the year. whoever takes over the white house, if it is president obama staying in the white house or governor romney, it would change the dynamic. there's a thought that if governor romney wins, there would be some sort of some sortor temporary measure would be tried to keep everything into the new administration to let the new administration takes its hands on these issues. i'm not sure democrats would want to go along with that. but there's a school thought which says that. i would not be surprised if the white house is working on strategies as we speak to try to come up with proposals they could offer during

of changed my opinion. i thought we had control of congress and we had a chance with obama for four years. now they can say we can tax you for doing nothing. i will give the other party a try. i will let the republicans have this one and see what they can do in a few years. if they suck, my vote will change again. host: interesting call. now we are on the line in pennsylvania with pstill phylis. turn down the tv. caller: hi. host: you are an independent. what are you thinking right now? caller: i will not vote for biden. he sounds crazy, always granting. nothing he says makes sense to me. as far as obama, i watch him. when he went overseas and talk about how we need to apologize for everything we do. and then i heard an interview that he gave with someone when he said that after his mother- in-law had surgery that it would be a good idea if an older person lived on pain pills instead of having their problem taken care of. another thing, and egos around the country and talks, he looks almost like the rabble-rousers' when he goes around the country, it looks almost like a rabble rouse

. guest: there is no question -- president obama had a jobs bill last year. the republicans had no use for it. it was put aside because they did not want to have the present have a success. they were not interested in creating jobs. do they have a jobs plan? there is no record that cutting tax creates jobs. i do think the democrats need to be bolder and put forward many more ideas about how to create jobs. in my mind the democratic party is a coalition of interest. the republican party i think will possibly expire because it ist.become so extreme as t it risks extinction in a country going through such demographic shifts. it is primarily a white, older party to that. it doesn't understand how they will operate. they will throw as much money and do the vote suppression which about 11 courts have said we're not going to buy into the idea of bogus voter fraud to impair the greatest rights america has. host: we have 10 students on the bus. all the journalism students are double majors. a quick comment from you as an editor who hires journalists. guest: i think that is a great idea. many jo

10 years. i also have to take a look at this and feel that president obama's policies have to be contributing to this -- these increase jobs in the future. thank you. guest: thank you. i think that is absolutely right. at least for the president and the president's campaign staffers in chicago, this month's numbers did give them a chance to stand to the republican critics out there, including presidential candidate mitt romney, you have been criticizing us for the last few years and for the last few months. the jobless rate goes from 8.1% to 7.8% gives the president a better footing with telling the people that all of the investments may in the last -- made in the last few years are working. we have come to bank far to turn back now. host: -- we have come too far to turn back now? host: a question says is it possible to read the numbers? this is suspicious. guest: i, personally, do not think this is possible. most economists and economists who have been around for a long time would agree with me that this is not something that is possible. as i mentioned, we had labor secretary h

was a 23-year coal miner for many years. barack obama is wanting to do away with coal. i want to see mitt romney come back to my area and talk about call. we have a lot of people down here suffering because barack obama has shut down the coal business. i am a christian voters. i like to take the bible and lay it down and look at it and see which president i would like to vote for. i cannot find anything in the bible that i can vote for for barack obama. he does not have anything i can vote for him more. you turn over to romans chapter 1 and it talks about homosexuality and is an abomination of god. the two exodus' chapter 20 it talks about not killing babies. he is proud of it. there is no way a christian voters can vote for barack obama. host: some of the issues you just discussed were not discussed last night, or they? caller: they have been discussed in the past. i know mitt romney says he is against the homosexuality and will not vote for gay marriage. that is another thing he is against -- do not go in debt. when you become a debtor, you are a slave to whoever you borrowed t

shortly after taking office president obama said he would fix the economy in three years or face a one-term proposition. today he has broken the promises. his words have no credibility. host: that was the republican weekly address. ralph from the main joins us on the independent line. caller: i was born in 1950, 61 years old. i have gone through all kinds of things. my dad was in the service -- i have had two fathers. i am taking care of my mother now who is just getting one cut back after another through social security. medical benefits. i am not happy. i know what is going on. in the last five years i have taking care of her 24-7. i have had time to educate myself on what it is. until we understand who the enemy is, nothing will change and their plans will continue. there are manufacturing a war because global international banks and their lackeys have bankrupted the world. derivatives are nothing more than leverage. you have a situation where if you look and research it, the city of london which is one square mile in the heart of london which is not even governed by the laws of eng

? host: why are you supporting mitt romney? guest: president obama, in his short for years has raised the debt by five trillion dollars. the share of the national debt is $50,000 per person. it is not want to be president obama's generation that will pay it off. it will be myself and fellow students. students are understanding they do not want that. students are supporting iran because he has the plan to ensure when we graduate from college, there is an economy where there is jobs. right now there is not. half recent college graduates are unemployed or underemployed. students go to college to be educated to get a job. i have many friends that are graduating this spring and cannot find jobs, and it is because of the obama economy. host: our lines are open. we do have the mind set aside for those of you that live in ohio. the first call is from cory in columbus. caller: good morning. with president obama instituting more pell grants, what made you think of this as a backdoor draft? students who cannot afford college and of going into the military programs to get an education. guest: wel

democrats were in control for four years, two under bush and two under obama, yet it was all bush's fault and nobody takes responsibility. that's the problem. the voters need to take responsibility and get rid of every one of the incumbents, it's maybe not in this election, but if they don't get this country straightened out and get the economy straightened out, but just take one election in two years, if it's not better, get rid of every one of them and they will finally get the message. host: let's look at some national news stories. this story from the new york times -- and this other story in the times -- looking at other international news stories on long lines of what our last caller was talking about, whether international news is getting attention. and this in the washington post -- the debate tomorrow night will focus on domestic issues. what would you be listening for? if you're not going to watch, why? monty writes -- in new orleans on the republican line, eustice. caller: good morning. i don't know how anything can change. romney would have to come up with something. is
